Impact in Egypt with Amparo System
A clinic where the Amparo System makes sense
One of the most valuable outcomes of the visit was seeing how naturally the Amparo System fits into Orthomedics’ current way of working. The clinic primarily works in an in-clinic setting and follows a more traditional plaster-casting fabrication workflow, which made it especially relevant to demonstrate how Amparo can complement and strengthen existing clinical processes rather than replace them outright.
This is one of the strengths of the Amparo System: it gives clinics a modular way to improve shape capture, speed up fittings, and expand patient options while still working with familiar tools and established clinical practices.
Demonstrating Resilience Socket and Majicast
During the trip, the products demonstrated were the Resilience Socket, Soft socket compatibility, Trust Socket, and Majicast, with fitting techniques focused on wrapping and Majicast.
Across the two days, the team carried out multiple live fittings with patients using different suspension systems and limb profiles. The first day included a Resilience Socket demo for several Orthomedics CPOs. One patient, who normally used a laminated socket with liner and active vacuum suspension, initially experienced distal tibial discomfort. After local adjustment to relieve pressure over the bony prominence, the patient reported feeling much better and went home with the socket.
Other fittings showed similar promise. One patient using a laminated socket with pin-lock suspension tried the Resilience Socket and returned for further refinement the following day, while another patient was happy with the fit and took the socket home. On the second day, an 11-year-old patient was fitted and, after a second fitting to refine comfort, was very satisfied with the socket and wanted to take it home pending a follow-up with a new foot.
Same-day readiness and improved comfort
A strong message came through from patient feedback: most patients were very satisfied with the socket, especially the fact that they could be ready on the same day. Several also reported that, over bony prominences, the Resilience Socket felt more comfortable than their laminated sockets.
For the Orthomedics team, the most interesting aspects of the Amparo System were the fast fabrication process, adjustability, soft socket compatibility, ease of fitting, and adaptability to their current workflow.
That feedback matters. It confirms that the value of Amparo in a clinic like Orthomedics is not only speed, but the ability to support more responsive, patient-centred care while staying compatible with the realities of a busy prosthetic practice.
A partner in Cairo
We left Cairo encouraged by the professionalism of the team, the quality of the clinical environment, and the clear potential for Amparo to support Orthomedics’ work. Clinics like Orthomedics show exactly why Amparo matters: our system can integrate into advanced, established clinical settings while helping teams move faster, adapt more easily, and improve the patient experience.
We are grateful to Orthomedics for the warm welcome, the openness to learn, and the honest exchange throughout the visit. We’re excited about what comes next — and we look forward to seeing the impact they can create with the Amparo System in Egypt.
