Strengthening Partnerships and Empowering Clinicians: Amparo’s South America Workshop with Dilepé
At the end of November, the Amparo team returned to Brazil to spend an impactful week alongside our partners, Dilepé, in São Paulo. As one of Brazil’s largest O&P providers, Dilepé has been using our Confidence Socket for the past two years. This visit was all about taking the next step—introducing and training their team and customers on the Resilience Socket and our game-changing Majicast System.
Training, Demonstration, and Innovation in Action
We conducted multiple training sessions with Dilepé’s internal team, south american distribution network, and several of their external customers. The focus: showcasing how our latest innovations—the Resilience Socket and Majicast System—can elevate the way prosthetic care is delivered across the region.
Throughout these sessions, clinicians took part in:
- Hands-on fittings with real patients, including individuals receiving their first prosthetic device
- Demonstrations of the Resilience Socket, crafted using both the traditional wrapping technique and the Majicast hydrostatic fitting method
- Live trials of the Trust Socket fitted through Majicast, demonstrating how direct-fit prosthetic devices can be created quickly, comfortably, and accurately
Participants created and tested sockets using different sizes, suspension methods, and workflows, allowing them to truly experience the adaptability and reliability of the Amparo system.
Real Patient Outcomes, Real Impact
During the week, we fitted three different patients—including two at the University of Florianópolis (UDESC) during a session supported by RAMP (Multidisciplinary Rehabilitation for Amputees).
For all three patients, the feedback was overwhelmingly positive. One, who had previously worn the Confidence Socket, preferred the new Resilience Socket, citing better comfort. The two patients at UDESC walked away with their very first prosthetic devices—both fitted on-site using our direct-fit system.
Majicast Steals the Spotlight
While the Resilience Socket impressed clinicians with its polished finish and flexibility, the Majicast System emerged as the clear standout. Its ability to create a hydrostatic, weight-bearing mold of the residual limb in real-time resonated with clinicians—especially those working in remote areas or high-volume clinics where repeatability and speed are critical.
The Majicast’s:
- Hands-free, water-based pressure control
- Compatibility with Amparo’s remoldable sockets
- And ability to eliminate plaster, casting errors, and post-fit adjustments
…left a lasting impression because it’s potential to improve efficiency, outcomes, and clinical workflow.
Building Momentum in South America
From São Paulo to Florianópolis, we saw the same excitement and curiosity from clinicians and patients alike. This workshop was a true collaboration, made possible by the incredible support of Dilepé, their team, and the entire LATAM network.
To everyone who joined us—thank you. The week was a powerful reminder that with the right technology, training, and partnerships, we can bring high-quality, accessible prosthetic care to more people—faster and more effectively.
